Hard Korr Solar Blanket Review

Here is my feedback of the Hard Korr lifestyle 200w solar blanket based on a year of use.

Lifestyle 200w Portable Solar Blanket – Hardkorr Australia

So far I have found it to be relatively good and good value for money.

When setup on a vehicle windscreen or somewhere with an angle on it they perform relatively well.

In all the time I have used this blanket the output has never reached anywhere near 200w. The most I have experienced in full sun is about 120W that was on a perfectly clear day at about midday.

The Hard Korr Solar blanket is connected using a Victron MPPT which is monitored using Bluetooth. I have also used the PWM included in the box, however, the results did not differ.

It does handle shade well in terms of on a single panel and still generating an output.

I found that after 6 to 7 trips the clear coating on the panels is bubbling a bit (more of an aesthetic thing). There are also some tears happening in the cover that holds the panels together, In particular the flap with the Anderson connector has opened up where the Velcro is.

I must say that the support/warranty is very good. The blanket began to tear and as soon as I raised a request I was sent a replacement blanket which was great.

For a solar blanket it is good value for money. Hard Korr recommend it for lighter duty use and the fact that it fits easily in your car is another plus…
